Guenter will be the Featured Artist for the 2013 Art Show after winning last year's Viewer's Choice prize.

We welcome Guenter W. Barth as our 2013 Featured Artist after winning the Viewers’ Choice Award at last year’s show. Guenter has the unique honour of also winning the Rose Lindsay Art Prize last year!

We thank Guenter and his wife, Edel for their generous donation of the beautiful painting, ‘521 Grose Valley’ as the First Prize in the Art Show Raffle. We look forward to another stunning ART SHOW for our artists, craftspeople and our community.

 

Biography

Guenter was born in East Germany and started painting at the age of 16.
He migrated to Australia in 1960 but it wasn't until 1994 when he retired and followed his dream of painting. He started to travel extensively throughout Australia.

The natural beauty of the bush and the outback became his inspiration. Guenter loves to paint and his favourites are Australian Landscapes and Seascapes in Oil. He says it's the best hobby anyone can have.
His paintings have been sold to every State in Australia as well as Germany, Japan, Singapore, New Zealand, America and Canada.

He has been an active member of the Nepean Art Society since 2003.

  • 2005 - Guest Artist at St. Pauls Grammar School (Cranebrook)
  • Chosen to send Artworks to Japan Sister City
  • 2008 - 1st Prize in local regional Show (Penrith)
  • 2008 - Publication in the 'ARTIST'S PALETTE' Magazine No. 72 including Front Page
  • 2008 - Private Exhibition in Katoomba (Blue Mountains)
  • 2010 - Winner of 'WORLD HERITAGE ART PRIZE'
  • 2012 - A second Publication in the 'ARTIST'S PALETTE - BACK TO BASICS' including Front Page.
  • 2012 - 1st Prize 'ROSE LINDSAY ART PRIZE' Springwood Art Show
  • Many 'VIEWERS CHOICE' Awards.
  • Many 'Highly Commended' Certificates
